Liker of squirrels (Squirrel Dealer), brewer of janky Legacy decks, and devoted to finding combos with every newly spoiled legendary.

I've been playing Magic for over 2 years.

My current pet card is Lithoform Engine. When I first started playing Zendikar Rising, I kept finding more and more decks and combos that this slots into. Being colorless unconditional instant/sorcery copy, this substantially outperforms, in my opinion, Primal Amulet  Flip, Spellweaver Helix, and the like.

Being able to copy abilities seemed like the weakest ability, until I watched, openmouthed, as Ugin, the Spirit Dragon drew 14 cards, gained 14 life, and pulled out 14 permanents. Yes, it can copy loyalty abilities.

Being able to copy permanent spells at instant speed, and while they are on the stack, means that, in a control-oriented meta, you have a 4-mana contingency plan.

Combos/decks utilizing/exploiting/abusing the hell out of this card are things that I would love to see in the comments.

I will be posting a new combo every week to my home page. Subscribe if you like it!

Week of 9/21/2020 Combo

This is more of a synergy than a combo, but it's something I've been loving with the prerelease of Zendikar Rising:

Azusa, Lost but Seeking (or anything that gives you multiple land pays) + Ancient Greenwarden + Scute Swarm + Fabled Passage (or any fetch land) = 12 landfall triggers per turn, which means 2,048 bugs the first turn, 8,388,608 bugs the second turn, 34,359,738,368 bugs the third turn, and so on. Add in a few Roiling Regrowths or Oracle of Mul Dayas, and you've got a pretty spicy engine.

I built a deck around this beautiful combo, which is currently legal in Modern: This May Bug You

Week of 9/14/2020 Combo

This is a combo I have been trying to put together for years, ever since I first saw Braid of Fire. I knew there had to be a way to use that mana for something other than instants, but I couldn't find it.

And then Zendikar Rising was spoiled, and I met Leyline Tyrant. This beast of a dragon allows us to save our mana for when it matters, and if you have nothing better to do, it's a Banefire on a stick.

Check out the deck below for my take on this crazy new dragon, and please tell me if you have found a more explosive combo.

Week of 9/7/2020 Combo

This week, as an apology for not posting on Monday, I decided to give ya'll a pretty degenerate combo:

Turn 1: Play any land that gives you , play any [Lotus] (https://tappedout.net/mtg-card/black-lotus/) (eg: Lotus Petal, Black Lotus), or some of the Moxen (Mox Pearl, Mox Jet). Use the land to play Children of Korlis.

Turn 2: Play any land that gives you , play a Dark Ritual, play another ritual or use a Moxen or Lotus to get . Use this mana to play Lich. This loses you 20 life, which means Children of Korlis can now gain you 20 life, which draws you 20 cards with the Lich. Draw and play some more free mana, play another Children of Korlis or Tainted Sigil to draw some more cards. With around 35 cards in hand, cast Sickening Dreams, discarding your hand, and dealing 35 damage turn 2.

Week of 8/31/2020 Combo Notion Thief + Wheel and Deal = Draw, depending on the number of opponents you have, either 8, 15, or 22 cards, and force your opponents to discard their hands with no compensation.

A lot of your cards fall into multiple categories, so I would put them in multiple categories.

Nope. A little out of my price range.

Blightcaster seems to be rather underwhelming. Instead, i would suggest Unholy Indenture or Minion's Return.

Making the mana base more consistent increased the budget substantially. I'm trying to get it to a medium-variance, medium-choice playing style. I've also started a section for updates and substitutions, which will change with playtesting.

Thank you for your interest in the deck! Improving the mana base and ramp is on my to-do list, and you've both made some great suggestions.

September 16, 2020 3:54 p.m.

That is a valid point, but the average cmc is only because of a few expensive cards, and some of them have prowl, which influenced my landbase.

I would play Fling over Kazuul's Fury if that's still in Standard.

The win-con is generally stacking aristocrat effects and recycling the graveyard over and over. Blasting Station, Cabal Archon, Relic Vial, and Wayward Disciple can deal a surprising amount of damage, and we can always just make an army of zombies with Rotlung Reanimator.

Really like what you're doing here! I was super excited to see where people went with the new commanders, and this is a great build! You're going more towards mill than the rogue tribal element, but I still have a few cards that might work:

Here's a link to my build around this super fun commander: A Mill Deck That Went Rogue

RedBullMan2, yes, Blood Artist and Zulaport Cutthroat, along with other classic Aristocrat bombs like Falkenrath Noble would fit the deck very well, but I am keeping it strictly Cleric Tribal, at least for now.

Thanks for you interest in the deck!
