The only modern competitive lifegain deck I know is soul sisters.

With the higher amount of cheap stuff, such as Springleaf Drum , the alternate casting cost of the titan is less steep when there's a Scrap Trawler on the field. Its upsides are that it allows to continue playing the game to combo kill against Karn, the Great Creator + Mycosynth Lattice or Damping Sphere without needing to first remove them. It's also a threat that has an inbuild card advantage mode in its return ability.

The Inventors' Fair proved itself too much of a mana commitment, sacrificing a land and using 4 mana, to be of much use. Ghost Quarter is, usually, even less worthwhile but it can buy an extra turn against Tron.
Casting Metallic Rebuke improvising two proved more costly than anticipated also very predictable. So I'll be testing out Spell Pierce and Spell Snare . I'm also considering putting some planeswalkers or creatures instead.

Once Upon a Time seems great in this deck.

Volcano Hellion says it's etb damage can't be prevented so Deflecting Palm does not prevent it and only you take the damage. A staple idea for this kind of deck is Boros Reckoner combined with Blasphemous Act and some number of Stuffy Doll . If you decide for this route you can make Blasphemous Act cheaper to cast by running Norin the Wary and Genesis Chamber .

Suppression Field is the ban of so many decks since it makes fetches, planeswalkers, non-mana artifacts, creatures with activated abilities (such as the untap from devoted druid), much worse. It's probably better than Stony Silence in the current meta since it doesn't hurt your deck (apart from heliod activation) and can be brought in against almost anything. Depending on current meta it could see mainboard.

Questing Beast is a new Throne of Eldraine card that is bound to become a staple in mono-green and should be included in mainboard.
Veil of Summer could be put in sideboard depending on your local meta.
Fetches are good for thinning the deck lowering the odds of drawing lands later on.
For those reading the comments that whant some budget options Gaea's Revenge could come in instead of Carnage Tyrant and Castle Garenbrig instead of Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx . Altough the castle could be added as a one or two off to the current manabase replacing forests.

Sadly, I don't think your combo works...

The only issue I have with it is that it requires the one life to tap for colored mana. Since this deck isn't very color intensive the basics already take care of the job and even the Nimbus Maze is only in there because of the sideboard so I fell the gain in color consistency is outweighted by the lifecost.
However, if the deck does become more color intensive (maybe even a splash into another color in the sideboard), then I'll definetly add the spires.

Some lands for you to consider are:
Altough they don't protect your lords they can regenerate any morph you swing at the opponent.

Loved the deck specially because it uses Wheel of Sun and Moon which has great art. My only sugestion would be to replace the one in the mainboard for Glittering Wish since it gives you a way to tutor up the Wheel.

Changed the mainboard to have more combo cards notably cutting Arcum's Astrolabe which freed the manabase from having to run snow-basics.
With the changes to SB and MB having 3 artifacts worth saccing for Salvage Titan became a bit farfetched witch is why he's no longer in the deck.
I would love to squeeze in 4x Chromatic Sphere for another 1cmc card to bring back with Scrap Trawler triggers but it's hard to shave cards while running Locket of Yesterdays and the land count is about as low as it can get.
