You can flicker clones, right?

And it doesn't mess with the rulings because of the name or anything?

Like for instance I have The Mimeoplasm enter as AEtherling and activate his ability. Does Mimeo re-enter as himself and re-trigger his ETB?

You would be correct. If a creature enters as a copy of something else, if it leaves the battlefield it'll become a new object with only the abilities and such written on the card. Flickering The Mimeoplasm will cause it to lose the abilities and P/T of the cards it exiled and you will have to pick two new ones.

Note however that Mimeo doesn't have a triggered ability. This is happening right before it enters, so if it copies a creature with an ETB then the ETB of the copied creature will trigger.
