wild beastmaster trigger timing question
Asked by maxon 11 years ago
So my question is about Wild Beastmaster
. Does her abililty only trigger the moment she is declared an attacker, or is that a static ability that lasts as long as Wild Beastmaster
is involved in my attacking combat phase?
I am asking because the thought popped into my head of flashing Boon Satyr
onto Wild Beastmaster
the moment before combat damage is dealt. I don't even know if it's really worth while as a play, but I'm still curious as to whether or not I could even do that. I'm thinking no, but if it's yes I wanna know.
yeah i realize she needs to be attacking for her ability to trigger. but she only pumps the moment she's declared an attacker? like if she gets bigger during the combat phase, it doesn't affect the other attacking creatures? that's what it looks like you're saying.

The trigger checks her power when the ability resolves, it is not a static ability. If you want to pump your team with her you need to pump her before her ability resolves.

Let me try and make it clear here.
Wild Beastmaster 's ability triggers when she attacks. It goes onto the stack. If you want, you can then flash in your Boon Satyr . That'd go on the stack on top, everyone gets priority, and then everything resolves. Boon Satyr enchants Wild Beastmaster , her ability checks her power, and everything else gets +5/+5 (unless something else is in the equation). Then blockers are declared, damage is dealt, and so forth.
If you waited combat damage was about to be dealt to flash out your Boon Satyr , then the Wild Beastmaster 's ability would have already checked her power and given everything a measly +1/+1. Does that answer your question?

The ability triggers when you declare Wild Beastmaster as an attacker. If you wanted to combo it with BOON SAYTR!!!!!, you'll have to flash it in while the trigger is on the stack.

Wild Beastmaster has to attack for her ability to trigger, you can't just leave her back.
You have to flash in Boon Satyr in the declare attackers step before the Beastmaster's trigger resolves if you want to pump your whole team.
