what if I Spelljackd an Everflowing Chalice? could I have infinite colorless man for free?

Geesh. Looking for official rulings on this if any judges out there know it. My guess is the "can't" over "can" rule will apply here somehow but magiccards.info doesn't have any usefull info on the topic.

No because you would still have to pay the multikicker to be able to produce mana.

702.31a Kicker is a static ability that functions while the spell with kicker is on the stack. Kicker [cost] means You may pay an additional [cost] as you cast this spell.

The "mana cost" of a spell is just the numbers and symbols in the top right hand corner of the card. Things like kicker and buyback are additional costs, and aren't covered under "cast without paying it's mana cost" effects.

You COULD pay the kicker cost as you cast it for free with Spelljack , so it wouldn't be a whole waste. It'd end up being exactly the same as if you'd cast the Chalice from your hand. But it won't get you free multikicker, sorry - as Siegfried said, kicker is an additional cost, not the mana cost, so it's not covered by Spelljack .

Even if it was, it'd most likely be worded such that you'd get no kicker out of the deal, anyhow. Note how they specifically call out X=0 in the case of X spells.

Spelljack only lets you avoid paying the mana cost, which is specifically the cost represented by the symbols in the upper-right corner of the card. You're still allowed to apply extra costs like Multikicker (because Spelljack doesn't say anything about not being able to), but you have to pay for those honestly.

The part of Spelljack that talks about X has actually been edited to be reminder text in the official Oracle wording, because the rules of the game already say that if a spell is being cast without paying its mana cost, the only valid choice for any X in the cost is 0.
