What if I Reverberate Worst Fears

Asked by xXGuiltyNinjaXx 11 years ago

Ok, so say that I cast Worst Fears , targeting my opponent, and then play Reverberate , targeting Worst Fears to copy it, and then choose my opponent again as the target for the copy. How would this play out? Would the copy fizzle out since Worst Fears reads ,",during that player's next turn.", ? Or would I be able to end my turn, control my opponent and end their turn, play/end my turn, and then control my opponent again?

It makes sense to me that, since it says "Next Turn" it only means "Next Turn." If it said, "Next turn you don't control" it would be different.

It says "That Player's next turn", so you'll control your opponent's next turn, and after that, He'll control your turn.

You still control your current turn.

And one point to be clear on, just because you control your opponent's turn, doesn't mean that it's your turn. It's still your opponent's turn. you just control it.

@Sam_I_am: You misread the question. OP controls both copies of Worst Fears .

This situation plays out as though you had resolved only one Worst Fears . Worst Fears 's effect does not stack; you'll only control your opponent during his or her next turn, which is the one after your current turn.

Also, note that the copy won't fizzle for two reasons. First, it resolves before the original, so the original would be the iteration to fizzle (if any were to fizzle). Second, to fizzle is to be countered by the game rules for having zero remaining legal targets. Worst Fears 's target is still legal, even if Worst Fears 's effect is redundant.
