Want to clarify a trick with Flickering Ward
Asked by Kogarashi 12 years ago
I have a mono-white deck that utilizes a playset of Flickering Ward. Can I use the spell offensively to remove beneficial auras from my opponent's creatures and then return Flickering Ward to my hand, or can I not activate the Ward's return-to-hand effect if it's not on one of my own creatures?

You can do what you intend. If you cast it choosing "red", for example, and attach it to one of your opponent's creatures, all red auras attached to it fall off. You can still return Flickering Ward to your hand using its ability, because you're still its controller, regardless of who controls the creature it's attached to.
