does the new mechanic in Innistrad Undying, is it just me or is that persist? Does Undying=Persist?

No, Persist put a -1/-1 counter on while Undying puts a +1/+1 counter on the creature instead.

Another difference is, Persist creatures are as good as they get when they haven't "persisted" if you will. Murderous Redcap hits the hardest without his -1/-1 counter. but Undying creatures get stronger as they die.

Melira, Sylvok Outcast creates an infinite persist loop, but has no effect on creatures with Undying.

Also Undying is the final nail in the coffin for infect but conversely infect wrecks persist

@Halidir_Orveck I don't think Undying and Infect interact the way you think. An Undying creature with +1/+1 counter, killed by an Infect creature, stays dead.
