Transcendence and Lich's Mastery

Asked by MeJeremy 4 years ago

Let's say I had Transcendence and Lich's Mastery out, and then I take 2 damage. How would these two cards react to that event.

When you take 2 damage, it causes you to lose 2 life. This triggers the "Whenever you lose life..." abilities on both cards. Since they're triggering at the same time and you control them both, you can decide what order to put them in. When Transcendence's trigger resolves and makes you gain 4 life, that will trigger the "Whenever you gain life..." ability on Lich's Mastery, which will then make you draw 4 cards.

Just gonna point out real quick that it's not hard to force a game draw with these two cards.

If you go above 20 life, you'll be stuck in a loop of Transcendence's second ability resolving and not doing anything, then noticing its condition (have 20+ life) has been met, then going to resolve again.
