Taking extra turns in Archenemy

Asked by erabel 12 years ago

I was playing an Archenemy game the other day (Archenemy EDH, no less) and someone (not the Archenemy) played a Temporal Mastery . Now, when he takes his extra turn, does only he take the extra turn, or since we all share a turn, do we ALL get to go again?

I believe since the turn is shared it works for everyone that is sharing with the caster

The non-archenemy players are on a team, so they follow the team rules.

805.8. If an effect gives a player an extra turn or adds a phase or step to that player's turn, that player's team takes the extra turn, phase, or step. If an effect causes a player to skip a step, phase, or turn, that player's team does so. If a single effect causes more than one player on the same team to add or skip the same step, phase, or turn, that team adds or skips only that step, phase, or turn. If an effect causes a player to control another player, the controller of that effect controls the affected player's team.

Each player on the team will get to take advantage of the extra turn.

When you're playing a format where players on the same team take a shared turn, then giving an extra turn to one player on that team gives it to the entire team. All the "Heroes" in your situation get to take an extra shared turn.

Mental note: Add Mindslaver to my Archenemy deck.

Mindslaver still only affects the target player in Archenemy. You won't gain control of multiple players.

Not according to the ruling you just posted.

"If an effect causes a player to control another player, the controller of that effect controls the affected player's team."
