Swords to Plowshares vs. Path to Exile. Which one is better???

in my deck, deck:theoneandonlydragon-edh, which one is better. Swords to Plowshares or Path to Exile ? feel free to comment on my deck and +1 if you like it!

This is not a rules question. Q&A handles technical problems with game mechanics or rulings - this belongs in the deck help forum.

99.9% of the time, format restrictions ignored and assuming I could choose only one, I would choose Swords over Path. The decks I run Swords in can easily negate the life gain, but giving your opponent mana is a dangerous thing.

If it's EDH, run both, since you can't run two Swords.

short game SOP as an extra land will help him more than normaly 1-6 life(depends on the creatures toughness)

long game PTE if its not going to realy make a differnce giving him a bounes land

it would probly be best to have both and use them acording to the situation

I personally think PtE is more versatile. Unless I'm wrong, its major drawback (giving an opponent a land) can be a major boost for you, if you exile one of your own creatures early game.

If you play it on an opponent late game, than the mana drawback probably won't effect you much. I hate giving my opponent life at anytime, so I don't use StP.
