Sorin's Vengeance and Redirect

Asked by Gamer7129 13 years ago

If i Redirect card:Sorin's Vengeance at it's controller, I understand that it will deal 10 damage to him, but who gains the 10 life?

That part of the spell is not targeted, so the controller of the card:Sorin's Vengeance (the original caster) would still gain 10 life. Assuming it was 2-player game, this would result in 10 damage, then a gain of 10 life to your opponent (so a net effect of zero, assuming no other factors).

Hope this helps!

It should be noted that if the player would drop to 0 life before gaining back the other 10, that player would lose before gaining back the life.

If a player is EVER at 0 (even on the stack), that players loses the game.

@zandl

That is not correct.

104.3b If a players life total is 0 or less, he or she loses the game the next time a player would receive priority.

In this case, no player receives priority between the losing of 10 life and gaining of 10 life. So, if a player had 10 life and cast card:Sorin's Vengeance targeting himself, he would end up having 10 life at the end.
