slagwurm trigger

Asked by Ohthenoises 13 years ago

Here's the board state op has 2x phyrexian-etamorph copying my Engulfing SlagwurmMTG Card: Engulfing Slagwurm I have LureMTG Card: Lure attached to mine and I swing. My trigger goes on the stack first for each if his blockers then his triggers go on the stack for mine (active player non-active player order) his resolve first then mine resolve killing his. Is this correct? Or did I mess up?

That's right. Active player-controlled triggers go on first, then non-active, resolving NAP then AP. Was there anything specific about it that was making you unsure?

Just if we would trade of if I was right that the trigger would still kill his wurm copies with mine being dead. The whole (trigger independent of source thing)

Once an ability is on the stack, it exists independently of its source and can perform actions such as dealing damage or destroying without the source being present. (For example, if I activate Prodigal PyromancerMTG Card: Prodigal Pyromancer's ability and you kill it in response, the Pyromancer's ability will still resolve and ping something unless the ability itself is countered.)
