Sigarda's Aid, equipment and Stony Silence

Does Sigarda's Aid allow you to cast an equipment and attach it to a creature even though Stony Silence is on the field since you're not activating the equipment to "equip" it?

If you're using the second ability of Sigarda's Aid, then you can still attach it. While Stony Silence stops you from using the Equip ability, Sigarda's Aid specifically tells you that you can attach the equipment to a creature you control when the equipment enters the battlefield.
