Second Sunrise + Greater Gargadon

Asked by Wabbbit 11 years ago

How does this combo work? Can you suspend Greater Gargadon , cast Second Sunrise BEFORE you sac the permanents, then sac them to greater and have them all return?

The combo does work, however you would most likely just want to sacrifice everything and then cast Second Sunrise , however you could cast second sunrise and then sacrifice everything in response, so it goes on top of the stack.

But either way, yes. It works.

Yes, this works.

You suspend Greater Gargadon . That resolves, he'll come into play 10 turns from now. Casting Second Sunrise will put it on the stack. Before the stack resolves, you can sac your things. The effect will go on the stack as many times as you do it, and resolve one by one. Then Second Sunrise will resolve, check for the artifacts, creatures, and enchantments that you just sacrificed, (as well as any others that hit the graveyard) and bring them back.
Be weary, this can benefit your opponent too.

After Greater Gargadon is suspended, the order doesn't really matter as long as Second Sunrise resolves after the saccing. It's an instant spell so it could even be cast at the end of turn step to return all your stuff. Note that the saccing is even more instant (well, kind of) as it is a cost and thus can't be responded to.

i believe you have to tap lands for mana and leave it on the mana pool, then sacrifice the permanents and then cast Second Sunrise and bring all permanents back in order to sacrifice them again

Well, the most efficient way would be: suspend the dude in the first main phase, after that resolves cast the instant. Then in response tap all remaining lands for mana and sac 10 things. Then you might have mana left in your pool to cast different things and probably most of your lands are untapped again if they don't come into play tapped.

Combat phase: attack with the dude since suspend grants haste.
