Rulings for magical hack
Asked by iwinulose 10 years ago
I've read the rulings and the way I'm understanding it is that you change a single word on a permanent.
EX: "Target player loses 3 life" can be changed to "Target Player Gains 3 life"
Or for Chromatic Lantern : You add One Mana of any color to your mana pool, can I change that to "Add Ten mana of one color to your mana pool"
My question is, is this how Magical Hack works, or is it only land types?
EX: An Island gets changed to a Swamp Or "Islandwalk" gets changed to "Swampwalk"??

First, rules questions should be asked in the Q&A, which is linked in the header bar. I can't move this to the Q&A, so I'm moving it to BE.
Second, nowhere on the card does it say you may change any word. Magical Hack specifically states that you may replace all instances of one basic land type with another.
Third, the card provides an example that answers this question.
EDIT: Fourth, don't multi-post your threads.

I believe this is the perfect place to say RTFC. No offense meant.

"replacing all instances of one BASIC LAND TYPE with ANOTHER. ( For example, you may change 'swampwalk' to 'plainswalk.'"
Direct quote from the card.
