Question about exile effect

Asked by DiscoVeggie 8 years ago

Does exiling a creature with counters on it remove them? For example, if one of my creatures with counters was exiled by an enchantment like Suspension Field and then I was able to destroy that enchantment, will my creature return with the counters in tact?

No, counters are on a permanent for as long as it remains on the battlefield. Unless the card specifies it enters with a set number, like Heroes' Bane, it will enter with 0 counters.

So if you have an Ivy Elemental exiled, it will come back as a 0/0 and die. But if you have a Heroes' Bane exiled, it will come back as a 4/4.

Unless you have the creature enchanted with Vanishing! Lol. But phasing is a completely different discussion.
