Question about Deceiver of Form
Asked by slothiraptor 8 years ago
Hello, I'm new to Magic and had some questions about this card Deceiver of Form. If I reveal a creature I can choose whether I want to use copies of that creature, right? Also, it says I may put that card on the bottom of the library. Does that mean If I want I can put it back on the top where I got it?
The important part is that the card remains the top card of your library, you only get to look at it, and to do that you have to remove it from it's current location and turn it over. Effects like Courser of Kruphix's won't cause you to see the next card while looking at the revealed card.
The triggered ability here has a few optional and one non-optional component - the latter being that you have to reveal the top card of your library. Then, if it's a creature card, you may or may not have other creatures become copies of that card. From here, independent of what you decided to do, you may put that card on the bottom of your library. Only if you do this, the card will actually move from it's spot as the topmost card of your library.
Having multiple Deceivers in play, this means that you can gamble, putting a good creature on the bottom to maybe get an even stronger one out of the next Deceiver's ability that will resolve... but that's somewhat beyond the scope of the question :)

Please link all cards in your question. Deceiver of Form.
Deceiver's ability is a May ability, meaning you may choose to let the ability happen or not. You may choose to have your creatures become a copy of the revealed card or you may opt to leave them as they are.
In the same way, you may choose to put the revealed card on the bottom or leave it on top of your library.
