Pod + cage
Asked by Ohthenoises 13 years ago
Ok I know Grafdigger's Cage prevents cards from entering from libraries but what happens if someone with a birthing pod tries to play this ability? (they forget that its out) I know the creature they sacced is still sacced and they will still search their library because the cage does not affect those parts of the ability but what will happen to the creature when the creature tries to enter?
You get to search your library for a creature still, but you do not get to put it into play.
The gathering ruling for Grafdigger's Cage states that " 1/22/2011 If a creature card tries to enter the battlefield from a graveyard or library, it stays in its current zone. " So basically you would get to look at your library, find the creature, you wouldn't be able to put it into play so it would stay in your library, and than you would shuffle up and keep playing.
Hope this helped.

The creature card remains where it is, the library. It would go from the library, to the battlefield but because of the cage it can't enter the battlefield and will remain where it is. It doesn't leave the library into some sort of "limbo" and then fail to continue on its way to the battlefield.

some pod decks would wish they still got the creature in the graveyard.

Wouldn't matter with the cage. They cant enter from there either.
