Olivia Voldaren and transform cards

Asked by Gamer7129 12 years ago

Let's say I hit my opponent's Huntmaster of the Fells  Flip with Olivia Voldaren 's first ability. Then, my opponent decides not to cast any spells on his turn. When the huntmaster flips, does it lose the vampire subtype, requiring me to ping it again?

Huntmaster of the Fells  Flip will still be a Vampire, it just loses the Human creature type when it transforms. When a permanent transforms, it's still the same permanent. It just gains/loses types/abilities in accordance with the information on each side.

711.7. When a double-faced permanent transforms, it doesnt become a new object. Any effects that applied to that permanent will continue to apply to it after it transforms.

711.7. When a double-faced permanent transforms, it doesnt become a new object. Any effects that applied to that permanent will continue to apply to it after it transforms.Example: An effect gives Village Ironsmith  Flip (the front face of a double-faced card) +2/+2until end of turn and then Village Ironsmith  Flip transforms into Ironfang. Ironfang will continueto get +2/+2 until end of turn.

I believe that the additional creature type is an effect that applied to the permanent and will still apply when it is flipped. So you wont have to use olivias first ability again.
