New Question involving Stuffy Doll

Asked by Colten_Lee 10 years ago

If my opponent enchants my Stuffy Doll with Pariah ...and then somehow the doll takes we'll say 1 damage, what happens?

The damage would be dealt to the opposing player, but Pariah redirects it to the Doll. When the damage is dealt, it redirects it to the opposing player, but Pariah redirects it to the Doll.

If nobody can end this cycle of redirected damage, the game will end in a draw.

@Devonin: You made an important mistake. Stuffy Doll does not redirect damage. When damage is dealt to Stuffy Doll , its ability triggers, and it's the new instance of the ability that makes this a loop. The damage that would be dealt by Stuffy Doll 's ability to the opponent is instead redirected to Stuffy Doll by Pariah , causing the ability to trigger again.

Remember that replacement effects can only apply once per event.

So would that change the outcome or is it still a draw?

It's still a draw because it's still an infinite loop. There's no way to break it without removing either Stuffy Doll or Pariah (or preventing the damage).
