Nath of the Gilt-Leaf question

Asked by abenz419 11 years ago

In my commander deck, if I have Nath of the Gilt-Leaf and Sadistic Hypnotist on the battlefield at the same time and I sacrifice a creature to activate Sadistic Hypnotist ability, will my opponent discard 2 cards and cause Nath of the Gilt-Leaf 's second ability to trigger twice giving me two 1/1 tokens? Or is this only one instance of discarding since they are being discarded at the same time and they are being discarded because of the same effect, causing Nath to only trigger once?

Abilities that trigger from drawing and discarding cards will trigger for each individual card. In your example, Nath will trigger twice (unless your opponent only had 1 card to begin with).

ahh ok that makes sense, but at the same time I could see the logic in saying it's one effect causing it to happen at the same time so therefore it's only once instance. Thanks for clearing that up.
