Misdirection on a Return to Dust?

Asked by Zerafiall 10 years ago

Ok... can you cast Misdirection and target a return to dust (that was cast on the main phase) that had two targets?

We're playing on cockatrice this minute, so if you can add some for of Judge verification, that'd help : )

Sorry I don't know the ruling to this but I looked it up and Misdirection can only change a spell that has a single target because Return to Dust has multiple targets it can not have any of the targets redirected because it wouldn't be legal to cast Misdirection .

Taken from a judge's post "it should be interpreted this way: Change the target of target spell that has a single target."

Misdirection specifically says "Change the target of target spell with a single target." If a spell doesn't have a single target, that spell isn't a legal target for Misdirection .
