Miracle
Asked by BlckGaming 13 years ago
So when I reveal a miracle card, do I have to immediately play it? Or can I reveal it, keep it in my hand revealed and play it like post combat?
Fireteam is right. When you reveal the miracle you have to play it right after you reveal it.

When you reveal it, it triggers an ability which is put on the stack. When the ability resolves, you can cast the card for its miracle cost. You don't cast it immediately after revealing, but during the resolution of the triggered ability (which isn't too long after)

I imagine I already know the answer to this question, but I just want to make sure.
Say it is my opponents turn and EOT I cast Desperate Ravings
The top card of my library is Bonfire of the Damned and I reveal it.
I draw my second card, then I put it and the other contents of my hand onto the table facedown next to Bonfire, which is face up. I assign each of them a number and roll to determine which card is randomly discarded.
If the card is Bonfire of the Damned , can it still be cast?

I believe you cast bonfire before the other card is even drawn. If im not mistaken the text says to activate it WHEN you draw it. That means as soon as you would reveal it for its miracle cost you would cast it.

I am 99.9% sure that is incorrect. Desperate Ravings says to draw 2 cards and then discard 1 at random. All steps of that must be completed for the spell to resolve fully. You can't cast other spells in the middle of other spells.

When you draw the bonfire you reveal it. This triggers the miracle ability. You then proceed to finish resolving the ravings entirely. When you are done, you place the miracle ability on the stack. When it resolves you may cast bonfire for its miracle cost, if it hasn't left your hand.

No. If we read the reminder text of the Miracle ability:
"You may cast this card for its miracle cost when you draw it if it's the first card you drew this turn."
You clearly have to cast it as soon as you get it.
