Mindmoil effects and when they check for cards in hand

Hey guys. Like the topic says I was wondering when amount of cards in hand is checked for Mindmoil effects. Is it upon resolution or upon being triggered?

When it resolves. If someone kills a Mindslicer in response to the trigger and you discard your hand, you will draw zero cards from Mindmoil.
