Man land question
Asked by MonsterFinder221 11 years ago
For example, let's take Genju of the Spires . If I attach it to a mountain and by turn 2 use it to attack, do I tap 2 other lands other than Genju of the Spires or will one land and the Man-land itself suffice?

So, Animating a Man-Land is sorcery speed? (Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu- I've been doing it wrong for nearly 2 months!)

No, Genju's ability can be activated as an instant, but if the mountain it's enchanting gets tapped to pay for it, then you end up with a tapped land creature. You can totally do that, but you can't then attack or block with it.

I am confused as to what sorcery-speed means here as you can animate the enchanted mountain at instant speed.
Note though that if the land you enchanted was played this turn, it will suffer from summoning sickness if it is animated.

One of the ways to be able to attack with an animated Genju by turn 2 would involve a Sol Ring , and it would look like this:
Turn 1: Mountain , into Sol Ring .Turn 2: Mountain , cast Genju of the Spires targeting first mountain, tap Sol Ring to animate enchanted Mountain , swing.
So really all you need is ramp.
To answer your question you just need to generate 2 mana from any mana source to animate man-lands. One source CAN be your man-land, but then you won't be able to attack with it.

The land, itself, becomes a creature. If that land-creature is tapped then it can't be declared as an attacker.

If you tap the mountain that you're animating for mana, then it wouldn't be able to attack because it would already be tapped.
