Kiki-Jiki token cloned - has it haste?
Asked by Emzed 12 years ago
Assume i copy a creature (without haste) with Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker , then use a Clone to copy the token produced by Kiki-Jiki. Does the clone have haste in this case?
Actually: pie108 is incorrect. The clone would have haste, but you do not have to sac it. Reasoning in a sec.

Clone copies a card and what is written on it. The card that Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker copies gains haste. Let's say you copy Squire . It would read:
Squire 1W
Creature--Human Soldier
Haste
1/2
THAT is what is physically written on the card at this point. Clone would see that and become a White 1/2 with haste with the creature types Human and Soldier.
However, the delayed triggered ability on Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker only exiles the card it created, because the actual card does not have the ability on it.

If it was on the token, the Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker ability would read:
Haste
T: Put a token that's a copy of target nonlegendary creature you control onto the battlefield. That token has haste. That token gains "Sacrifice this creature at the beginning of the next end step"

Yes, since Kiki copies the creature then gives it haste and the "sacrifice at the.... etc" the token will have haste and the sacrifice clause as if it was written on the card and thus part of the creature.
Also, by the same reasoning you'll have to sacrifice clone at the same time.
