Is "playing" the same as "casting" a spell?

Asked by Temur_Frontier 8 years ago

So I'm building a new commander deck around Intet, The Dreamer, and I'm wondering about a certain interaction between Dragonstorm and Intet. Intet only "plays" spells(which I believe means that she can play lands and spells, correct?), but I am unsure if her ability counts as "casting" the spells. To put it simply, can I play a bunch of cards exiled with her for free, then cast Dragonstorm from my hand and copy it with storm for all those exiled cards I played in order to get a fuck ton of dragons out on the field?

Please try to link all cards in your question: Intet, the Dreamer, Dragonstorm

Being able to play a card means that you can play it if it is a land or cast it if it is a spell. Playing (nonland cards) IS casting for every intent and purpose. So, yes, you will get the storm trigger off of Dragonstorm, and, yes, it will count all spells you cast for free off of Intet.

Also, I believe fuckton is one word :P

Ah, my bad, it's been a while since I've been on here, I forgot you could link cards and stuff. And thanks for the input! I really appreciate it :)
