Interactions with chalice of the void

I built a Merfolk deck and I'm wondering how Chalice of the Void would work if chalice was put on two counters(yes I know chalice would have had to pay four) so nothing with the cost of two could be played would interact with AEther Vial on two counters.

No, this doesn't work the way you want.

Chalice of the Void counters a spell on the stack. AEther Vial 's activated ability just puts the creature onto the battlefield; it doesn't cast the creature as a spell so there's no chance for your Chalice to counter it.
