In an EDH game, can I use Mastermind's Acquisition to fetch outside of my colors?

In EDH your decks have to match your commanders colors. Can I fetch for a card that doesn't match my commander? The card isn't part of my original deck, so should it have to be the same?
Here is the citation Rhadamanthus alluded to:
"13. Abilities which refer to other cards owned outside the game (Wishes, Spawnsire, Research, Ring of Ma'ruf) do not function in Commander without prior agreement on their scope from the playgroup."

You'll have to discuss it with your playgroup. In the full official rules for Commander, any effects that get cards from "outside the game" don't do anything unless the playgroup has specifically come to an agreement on what they're allowed to do. Maybe it can get anything, maybe you have to build a sideboard beforehand, it all depends on what the group decides.
Unfortunately MTGCommander.net is blocked at work so I can't go copy/paste the exact text right now, but hopefully someone else can come along soon and take care of that.
