If I overload Cyclonic Rift, what happens to token creatures?

As question states, if I pay the overload cost for Cyclonic Rift what will happen to token creatures?

They all die! Mwhaha. Jk, but honestly whenever a token leaves the battlefield it is destroyed then dissapears, Dosent go into a graveyard.

I thought so just wanted to be sure, since my buddy had about 20+ tokens out I was hoping the would wipe the board. Thank you.

The tokens are also permanents, so they will return to the opponents hand.

However, tokens only exist while in the battlefield. Once they leave the battlefield they will cease to exist.

It is important to note that they do change zones before ceasing to exist. This means they may still trigger other effects when they change zones, such as something that may say "Whenever a creature is returned to it's owners hand...."

Wait, so does that mean if you used Cloudshift on a token it would die?

That is correct. If a token is exiled it is gone for good, even if the same ability would normally bring the creature back from exile.
