If Conjurer's Closet gets destroyed after exiling a creature, but before it returns to play, does the creature remain exiled permanently?

Trying to figure out if the ability of Conjurer's Closet resolves, or the entire ability is countered if it's destroyed, or if only part of it's ability triggers and then the rest fizzles because it's no longer in play. Just not sure how the stack factors in when interrupting an ability.
To consolidate the presented information, abilities function on the stack independently from their source. Once it's on the stack, only something that specifically counters a triggered ability can stop the ability of Conjurer's Closet .

I agree with both of them. Nobody gets to cast spells during the resolution of the ability, which includes both parts of the ability. Even if you could, the ability resolves independently of the source.

Good to know. I play the deck The Evil Dead II quite a bit and I need to know what kind of issues to look out for, and that was one of them.

There is no possibility of destroying Conjurer's Closet during the resolution of the ability since it's only a single trigger. What happens is that if Conjurer's Closet is present at the beginning of your end step the trigger will happen and the ability will go to the stack and a target is chosen, after which all players get to respond in normal priority order. When the trigger is let to resolve, regardless of if the Conjurer's Closet is still on the battlefield, if the targeted creature is still present it will be moved to exile and immediately returned as part of the resolution of the ability without a change on who controls it (for example you could target a creature you've taken with Act of Treason that turn and gain control of it permanently or until something else returns it to its owner).
