if a creature token becomes a copy of something is it still a token
Asked by mkv101 11 years ago
say i have a 1/1 solider creature token on the field and i use Polymorphous Rush on it to turn it into say a Charging Badger
can i use the populate mechanic on the creature token turned badger or is it no longer considered a token while under Polymorphous Rush 's ability
long story short does a token that is currently a copy of a real creature still a valid target for populate.

It's also worth noting that populate doesn't target anything.

Yes, this works. The 1/1 token that was copied into a Charging Badger is still a token. This is because only objects with actual Magic card backs are considered "cards" (besides double-faced cards from Innistrad). A token will always be a token; it cannot become a card.
In your above situation, when you Populate, you'll make a 1/1 Charging Badger token with trample. This token won't revert to 1/1 solider token at the end of your turn.
