How would scavenging a Nemesis of Mortals work?
Asked by Nthnbnntt09 11 years ago
So I want to build a scavenge deck with Varolz, the Scar-Striped and I was wondering how Nemesis of Mortals would interact with him. Since Nemesis costs one less mana to cast for each creature in your graveyard, would he cost one less to scavenge for each creature in your graveyard as well?

Yeah, Nemesis of Mortals is actually rather bad in a Varolz deck, since scavenge messes with it's ability to be cheaper.

The Mana Cost of a card is the symbols in the upper-right corner (or running down the left side for cards in the "future" frame). Though effects might change how much something costs to cast, nothing can change those symbols except for making the card a copy of something else. The Mana Cost of Nemesis of Reason will always be 4GG.

Ok, that makes sense. Yeah, I suppose he would be bad in this deck. Thanks.

No, because scavenge and casting are 2 different things. The scavenge cost of Nemesis of Mortals would be 6.
