How many hornet tokens does Hornet Nest spawn when it's attacked?

Whenever Hornet Nest is dealt damage, put that many 1/1 green Insect creature tokens with flying and deathtouch onto the battlefield. (Any amount of damage a creature with deathtouch deals to a creature is enough to destroy it.)
Does this mean that, if Hornet Nest gets dealt 100 damage by say Serra Avatar , that I put 100 hornet tokens onto the field? or only 2 because Hornet Nest only has 2 toughness?

You don't need to quote the text of the card. You only need to link it.
When creatures deal combat damage, they deal damage equal to their power. A creature can be dealt an amount of damage that exceeds its toughness. A 100/100 Serra Avatar would deal 100 damage to Hornet Nest , and Hornet Nest 's ability would trigger. Hornet Nest would be destroyed as a state-based action, but its ability will still resolve and produce one hundred 1/1 tokens of the appropriate characteristics.

Unless the Serra Avenger has trample it will deal all 100 damage to Hornet Nest granting you 100 tokens
