How does Wine of Blood and Iron work exactly?
Asked by Sector47 11 years ago
If I use a Wine of Blood and Iron and I pay the 4 mana more than once does it actually work more than once or can it only be used once. Also if it is used more than once will the +X be to the new power. For example would a 2/2 using the wine of blood and iron twice would result in a 8/2 ? 2+2= 4/2 then 4+4 =8/2 ?

Yes, if you put 8 mana into it you could cube a creatures power, if you put 12 mana...
I'll be right back, I think I have a deck I need to make.

Wine of Blood and Iron can be used as many times as your mana allows it. Each activation will create a delayed trigger that will be put onto the stack at end of turn. Then, they will resolve consecutively and the first one will force you to sacrifice the Wine. The other triggers will do nothing because there will be nothing to sacrifice. Even if you control another Wine at end of your turn, you don't need to sacrifice it if you did not activate that particular Wine's ability. That is because "...sacrifice Wine of Blood and Iron" means "...sacrifice this object" and doesn't care about other objects with same the name.
The X value is determined at the time of resolution, so your assumtion is correct. The 2/2 will be 8/2 after two activations.
