how does Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle work

Wondering, 2x Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle is on board, I get a 5th Mountain JUST NOW. Will it give 3 damage EACH for each Pimmacle. If so that's 6 damage. Ok, but, does it do it EVERY SINGLE TURN?! Or is it, just a 1 time shot?

u need to play a 6th mountain before Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle trigers but yes that would b 6 damage and every time u play a mountain after that would b another 6 damage

Magnor answered your question, but also remember that it doesn't ust make your 3 damage into 6 by having a second Valakut, it gives you another instance of 3 damage. So, potentially, you could have it target something else and do 3 damage to 2 things rather than 6 to 1.

Valakut says nothing about the card being tapped in its ability, so tapping has nothing to do with it; the triggers work regardless.
In order for it to shut off when it's tapped, it would have to read something like "Whenever a Mountain enters the battlefield under your control, if Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle is untapped and you control at least five other Mountains..."
So feel free to tap your Valakuts for red mana, they'll still shoot their 3-damage rage at the targets of your choice.

Well, the effect is a one-time-shot. It happens once when the Mountain enters the battlefield.
HOWEVER. You won't actually get anything in the scenario you just outlined. Valakut's trigger wants you to control "...at least 5 other Mountains..." If you just landed your fifth Mountain, you won't get anything, since you don't control five other mountains. You'll have to wait for your next land drop to drop your sixth mountain to hit things with Valakut damage.
