How does Stasis Snare work with vehicles?
Asked by Mokan 8 years ago
So an opponent puts a Snare on a vehicle. Does the vehicle then return from being a creature in exile and nullify snare's effect?
The only time that Stasis Snare can target any vehicle is when it is crewed making it a creature. That is a legal target. The only way to get the vehicle back is to destroy or exile the enchantment. It would have to be re-crewed when re-enters the battle field because it is a new instance. Just because it is an artifact when in exile doesn't destroy Stasis Snare. This is also true for planeswalkers like Gideon, Alley of Zendikar when he's +1'ed.

No. Stasis Snare needs to target a creature, whether that's a creature card, a creature token, an animated artifact, land, or planeswalker, doesn't matter. Once the permanent is exiled, the effect doesn't care what was exiled. Once the Stasis Snare leaves the battlefield the card will be returned, as a new object, it will only be a creature if it was a creature card. If it was a token, it will no longer exist and won't be returned.
