Hex Parasite targeting a Phantasmal image

If I target a phantasmal image that has copied a creature and phantasmal image currently has no counters of any sort on it, and I play hex parasite, can I target phantasmal image with its ability x=0 and kill the image?

Yes. Hex Parasite 's ability does not require that counters are present on the target. It targets a permanent and then removes up to X counters from it.

Since this is the case, you may target a Phantasmal creature, such as Phantasmal Image , in order to trigger its sacrifice ability.
