So I'm thinking about making a curse deck, and was wondering if Hero of Iroas ability would work for curses too?

Yes. Curses have the type Enchantment - Aura Curse. Because the curse is an aura it will cost 1 less to cast. ex. Curse of Chaos costs 1R to cast.

It would, for example Curse of the Bloody Tome counts as an Aura spell that targets players.
