Grand Abolisher and activating abilities when flashed in.

Asked by Poptart50100 13 years ago

I was playing with my brother and I flashed back a card:Moment's Peace in response to taking the damage. He had a AEther Vial at 2 counters then vialing in his Grand Abolisher . How will this play work out? Will I take no damage and not be able to cast any more spells ? Or will Grand Abolisher prevent the moment's peace from happening?

You cannot cast something in response to taking damage. You must do it before you take combat damage or afterward.

However, Grand Abolisher does not nullify spells or abilities that were cast/activated prior to its resolution. It prevents new spells/abilities from being cast/activated. Your card:Moment's Peace will resolve normally.
