Ghostfire in EDH
Asked by twospires 11 years ago
I don't play EDH, but I was just wondering whether a colorless Commander deck could be possible, maybe with one of the Eldrazi titans as commander. That made me wonder, would Ghostfire be legal in that deck? It's colorless, but it does have a red mana cost.
Not that you'd be able to actually cast the thing, of course.

think of it as color identity because even flip cards can not be used in commander if it is outside the commanders color identity. for example Elbrus, the Binding Blade Flip is illegal in a deck where the color identity is not black.

It is unfortunately illegal in a non-red EDH deck, as no cards with any mana symbols not included in your commander's color identity can appear on any cards in the deck.
