Frontline Medic + Geist of Saint Traft

Asked by TheWrenster 12 years ago

If I have both a Geist of Saint Traft and a Frontline Medic in play only, and attacking, does the Battallion indestructability trigger due to the token?

Batallion triggers from having 3 or more creatures declared as attackers, and since the Angel token enters play tapped and attacking, the token won't trigger Battalion.

Summary: No, because the token doesn't get declared as an attacker.

I had another part I accidentally deleted.

Now, I can't find the comp. rules section on Battalion, but I can explain who it works without the help.

Battalion is worded as "When CARDNAME and at least two other creatures attack, etc". The beginning part is important.

Since "when" indicates a trigger in MtG, and "attacks," means "is declared as an attacker" in rules jargon, the uncompressed trigger wording would be something like "if CARDNAME and at least two other creatures as declared as attackers, then etc."

I hope that clears things up.
