Freed from the Real on an opponent's creature...

Asked by TheGamer 9 years ago

If I enchant a creature with Freed from the Real that my opponent controls, does my opponent control the enchantment or do I? Can I activate its ability or can my opponent only.

Your opponent will continue to control the creature, but you will control Freed from the Real , and can thus activate its abilities.

The thing to note to answer questions like this about other cards is whether the aura itself has abilities (like Freed from the Real which simply states the cost and effect of the abilities) or whether the aura is GRANTING abilities, (like Underworld Connections things which say 'enchanted creature HAS' or 'enchanted land HAS')

If the aura grants an ability to the creature, the controller of the creature controls the ability. If the aura simply HAS abilities, the controller of the aura controls the ability.
