flipping bushi and sensei golden-tail

Asked by beastofrage 12 years ago

If I cast regenerate on Bushi Tenderfoot and have him block a creature with the same power and toughness as he does, would he still flip? Also can Sensei Golden-Tail stack bushido on creatures that have it already?

Bushi Tenderfoot would have regenerate so he would not die and would have dealt damage to a creature that is put to the grave. Yes he would flip.

Rule 702.43b "if a creature has multiple instance of bushido, each of them trigers separately"

  1. The only thing that Bushi Tenderfoot 's flipping ability cares about is whether the creature it dealt damage to this turn is put into a graveyard. Because regeneration only removes a creature from combat (it doesn't flicker it (see Ghostly Flicker for what I mean)), Bushi Tenderfoot remains the same creature for the whole time. So if a creature you blocked with him goes into your opponents graveyard this turn (note that it doesn't necessarily need to die right away, you can block a stronger creature and then finish it off with a spell on the same turn), he flips.
  2. Because Bushido is a triggered ability, you can place multiple instances of it on the same creature. Then, when the prerequisites (blocks or becomes blocked) are met, each Bushido 1 (let's say you have 3 of them) will rigger separately and go onto the stack. They will resolve one after another and such creature will get +1/+1 three times, which will of course sum up to overall +3/+3 bonus in the end.
