Equipping more than once
Asked by Gamer7129 13 years ago
I was playing my grand architect against a mono-black. He had just a Lashwrithe out (and no creatures) and i Mindslaver ed him.
On his turn, i had him play a creature, and then i had him pay 4 life to equip. After that i tapped all his mana and ended his turn. He then said, "why didn't you just pay the equip cost of Lashwrithe to kill me?"
Could i have targeted the already equipped creature multiple times with the same equipment?
@Gamer7129, that's one of the best thing's Mindslaver is good for. But it's best in SB.

702.6a Equip is an activated ability of Equipment cards. "Equip [cost]" means "[Cost]: Attach this permanent to target creature you control. Activate this ability only any time you could cast a sorcery."
The equip target does not need to be different from the current equipped creature. You could have continued to activate the equip ability targeting the same creature and killed him through paying the activation cost.
