Dumb question about Defense Grid..

Asked by Metroid_Hybrid 12 years ago

So if I have a Defense Grid out on the field, that means that MY spells will also cost (3) more to cast during my opponent's turn?

Yes. Defense Grid 's ability means that the only player who doesn't have his or her spells' costs increased is the active player. If you are not the active player, then your spells will cost more.

I was afraid of that.. However, if you click on the link itself on this site and at gatherer; it says: "Each spell costs (3) more to play except during its controller's turn." So that would mean that opponent's spells cost (3) more, period..?

I've been trying to perfect my Infectious P.C.P deck for tournament play, and this seems to be the best answer against control deck, but it seems that it would severely limit the use of my Turn Aside s..

No. The "its" refers to the spell, not Defense Grid . Spells cost 3 more to cast except on those spells' controller's turn.
