Does Viridian Emissary's Land Ability Trigger If He Was Sacrified?

Im Playing EDH With A Viridian Emissary And A Birthing Pod On The Battlefield And Was Wondering If I Use Birthing Pod 's Sacrifice Ability On Viridian Emissary If I Still Get To Search For A Land?

Perhaps I should elaborate a bit. The definition of "Dies" for the purposes of MtG is: A creature that goes from the Battlefield to the Graveyard. The reason for his death doesn't matter; it could be combat damage, he could be sacrificed, it could be a Searing Spear . What matters is that he ends up in the Graveyard, from the Battlefield.
This shouldn't be confused with "Exile", from a card like Pillar of Flame . That card specifically says the creature is Exiled (removed from the game) instead of ever going to the Graveyard.

Yes. It triggers when he dies. He certainly died! So it works.
