Does Terminus effect exiled cards?
Asked by Sorryu 12 years ago
I was thinking up a plan inorder to use exile target card to my advantage in my white deck, such as using Fiend Hunter to exile my own creature card, then a few turns later use Terminus . Allowing me to bring back my own creature card to attack there after.

If a spell or ability mentions a permanent type (such as creature or land) without specifically, explicitly using the word card, then it refers only to a permanent of that type. By definition, a permanent is a card (or token) on the battlefield.
Since Terminus says "creatures" and not "creature cards," it only affects creature permanents (creatures on the battlefield). It will not bring anything back from exile.
However, as emrakool said, resolving Terminus will put your Fiend Hunter on the bottom of your library, an act that triggers its LTB ability. When that ability resolves, the creature card exiled by Fiend Hunter 's linked ETB ability will return to the battlefield.

Terminus will not effect the exiled card. When Terminus resolves, it will remove Fiend Hunter from the battlefield to the bottom of your library. Fiend Hunter 's leaves the battlefield trigger will go on the stack and resolve once Terminus has finished resolving, bringing back the creature you had exiled.
