Does Slaughter the Strong take out The Scarab God or Hazoret the Fervent?

Asked by Tadsummers 7 years ago

Does it remove them for good, absent any graveyard recursion?

Slaughter the Strong will take out indestructible creatures like Hazoret the Fervent because they're not destroyed if they're sacrificed. Any sacrificed creatures will still die though, so The Scarab God will go to the graveyard but they still get the end step trigger to return it to their hand.

Also, if you use double square brackets around the card name it will be easier for people to see the card specifics so [slaughter the strong] with double brackets instead of single brackets would be Slaughter the Strong.

To be clear: "dies" means "goes from the battlefield to the graveyard". The Scarab God's last ability will trigger any time it goes directly from the battlefield to the graveyard for any reason.
